Why MyLo exists
MyLo is an AI code editor for people who want to choose their own models and keep control of their keys and code. It is built on Eclipse Theia, it is free and open source, and its own code is small enough to read and change.
Who it is for
- You want to try an AI editor without another subscription.
- You want to bring your own API key, or point it at a model you run yourself.
- You want an editor whose source you can read and modify.
What it is not
- Not a drop-in replacement for any other editor.
- Not commercially supported: there is no support contract and no committed roadmap.
- Not finished. See the status on the home page for what has and has not been verified.
Planned
Known gaps, not commitments: a Linux build, a signed and notarized Mac app, and automated end-to-end testing of the app itself.
License and credits
MyLo's own code is MIT licensed. It is built on Eclipse Theia (EPL-2.0) and many other open-source packages, which keep their own licenses. Extensions come from Open VSX.
The little lavender blob is Milo, the mascot. What changed in each version is in the release notes.
